Send ten photos of a ten-page document and the recipient has to work out the order themselves; send one PDF and it simply opens as a document.
It is also the format that upload forms expect. Applications, claims, submissions and registrations usually offer a single file field with a PDF requirement, which is exactly what this tool produces.
Fit image makes each PDF page exactly the size and shape of the image on it. Nothing is cropped, nothing is padded, and there are no white borders. This is right for photo collections, portfolios and anything screen-first.
A4 or Letter places each image onto a standard printable page, scaled to fit, with an optional margin. Choose this for anything that might be printed or that an official body will handle — a PDF of mixed-size photos looks unprofessional next to one with consistent pages, and printers behave better with standard sizes.
The margin option adds a small border so nothing sits awkwardly against the page edge, which matters because many printers cannot print right to the edge anyway.
If you are photographing documents rather than scanning them, a few things make a large difference. Use daylight or bright indoor light and keep your own shadow off the page. Hold the phone parallel to the paper rather than at an angle, so the edges stay straight. Fill the frame with the page and leave only a small border.
Rotate any sideways photos before you drop them here — the PDF uses each image exactly as it is, so a rotated photo produces a rotated page.
