Image Converter

Convert WebP, PNG and JPG in bulk. Resize and compress too — instantly, without uploading.

How the converter works

The converter reads each image you add, draws it on a hidden canvas in your browser, and saves it again in the format you choose. Nothing is sent over the internet, which is why it is quick and why it keeps working with a slow connection once the page has loaded.

You can also change the quality and set a maximum width. Lower quality gives a smaller file, and a smaller width makes the picture smaller still. For JPG and WebP the quality setting matters most; PNG is lossless, so it has no quality setting and keeps every detail.

Supported file types

You can add JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC images, which is the format iPhones use, as well as GIF, BMP and AVIF where your browser can open them. You can save the results as JPG, PNG or WebP. When you convert a PNG with a transparent background to JPG, the transparent areas become white, because JPG cannot store transparency.

A quick how-to

Drag your images into the box, or choose them from your device, and add as many as you like. Pick the output format, adjust the quality or width if you want, and press Convert. When it finishes, download each file, or all of them together as one ZIP. If a form needs a particular size in kilobytes, use the compressor for exact targets such as 50 KB or 200 KB.

Which format for which job

For a photo that goes on a form, a job portal or an email, choose JPG. Almost every site accepts it and the files stay small. For a logo, icon, screenshot or anything with a transparent background, choose PNG. For images on your own website where speed matters, choose WebP, which is usually smaller than JPG at the same quality.

If you are not sure, start with JPG at the default quality. If the portal then says the file is too large, use the compressor to bring it down to the exact size it asks for.

Common problems and how to fix them

A photo from an iPhone will not open on a portal: it is probably HEIC. Convert it to JPG and upload that. A website says the format is not allowed: check which formats it lists in its notice and convert to one of them. The picture looks blurry after converting: raise the quality setting, and do not set a maximum width smaller than you need.

A converted PNG is far bigger than the original JPG: that is normal, because PNG does not compress photos the way JPG does. Switch the output back to JPG or WebP.

Why converting in your browser is safer

Many online converters upload your picture to a server, convert it there and send it back. That means a copy of your photo, which may be an ID, a signature or a family picture, sits on someone else's computer. Here the work is done on your own device, so the files never leave it, and the tool still works if your connection drops once the page has loaded.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert WebP to JPG?

Drop your .webp files into the tool, choose JPG as the output format, press Convert, and download the results. You can add many files at once and save them together as a ZIP.

Which format should I choose?

JPG is best for photos and works everywhere, including upload forms. PNG keeps transparency and sharp edges, so it suits logos and screenshots. WebP gives the smallest files for websites.

Which file types can I convert?

You can add JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC photos, plus GIF, BMP and AVIF where your browser supports them. The results can be saved as JPG, PNG or WebP.

Is there a file limit?

There is no fixed limit. The work happens on your own device, so very large images or very large batches depend on how much memory your device has.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. The conversion runs inside your browser, so your pictures never leave your device and nobody else can see them.

How do I convert an iPhone HEIC photo to JPG?

Add the .heic file to the tool, choose JPG, and press Convert. The photo is converted in your browser, so it is not uploaded anywhere. The JPG will open on any phone, computer or upload form.

Why did my file get bigger after I converted it?

PNG stores every pixel without losing detail, so a photo saved as PNG is often much larger than the JPG. If size matters, save photos as JPG or WebP and keep PNG for logos, screenshots and images with transparency.

Does converting a JPG to JPG again make it worse?

Slightly, yes. Each time a JPG is saved it is compressed again, so repeated saves lose a little detail. Keep the original, convert once, and use a higher quality setting if you need the best result.

What happens to the location and camera details in my photo?

The image is redrawn in your browser and saved again, so details such as GPS location and camera settings are usually not carried over to the new file. Check the result if you need to be sure, and keep your original.

Why did my transparent background turn white?

JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white when you convert a PNG or WebP to JPG. Choose PNG or WebP as the output if you want to keep the transparent background.
